JILL BUTLER
Sisson Imports Exclusive Artist
Jill Butler is a successful artist, illustrator, designer and business-woman.
She’s enjoyed exciting careers in television, advertising and sales and
has over ten years experience as a marketing executive and designer in the home
furnishings industry, including a position as executive vice president, with
Vera Neumann.
After living in New York City for twenty-three years, Jill followed her heart
and moved to Paris, France. While immersing herself in the language and culture,
Jill discovered her passion and talent for art. Encouraged as an artist, Jill
has exhibited in several galleries throughout France and the US. Her work demonstrates
a variety of disciplines including watercolor illustrations, found objects-paper
collage and pen and ink drawings.
Combining her skill as an artist and business woman, Jill has started several
successful companies including a business designing interiors for French shopping
centers.
In 1995, Jill established Jill Butler… art&design providing design
consultation to the papergoods and home furnishings industry. Numerous products
feature Jill’s whimsical watercolor illustrations including stationery,
textiles, papergoods, placemats, porcelain and a host of others. Her products
have been featured in Bon Appétit, Modern Bride and the New York Times.
A bonafide Francophile, Jill’s love affair with France continues to inspire
her work.
She has authored and illustrated two books, Paintbrush in Paris, published in
1994 by Workman Publishing and Rendez-vous with France á la Jill Butler,
a point and pronounce guide to travelling, shopping and eating in France published
in 2002 by Globe Pequot Press.
At the heart of Jill’s work is her cross cultural experience and her ability
to share that experience in the products she creates and markets. Jill divides
her time between travels to Europe and the Connecticut River Valley.

FRENCH LEAVES
Grape leaves gathered from French vineyards are commonly used to line baskets
or trays for presenting and serving cheese. These parchment paper leaves make
great serving accents for cheese, bread, hor d’oeuvres, desserts or your
favorite pastries. Add a splash of elegance to your buffet table by adding these
decorative food safe leaves. Sisson’s first products were the French cheese
leaves. Sisson has been the premier source for cheese leaves in the United States
since 1986.
Sisson Imports has developed a proprietary printing method that produces the
highest resolution and finest detail on the leaves. They look real because they
were developed by digitally scanning real leaves. Our parchment paper leaves
are such exact replicas, that guests often think they are real. The highest grade
European parchment paper is imported to the United States and printed with food-safe
dyes to create these unbelievable leaves.
LA ROCHERE GLASSWARE
Many of these glass pieces are adorned with raised relief decorations that symbolize
France, including the French Bee and Fleur de Lys designs. The Bee, a symbol
of Napoleon, is commonly associated with the Provence region of France, which
is renowned for its world-class wine and cuisine. The Fleur de Lys design, symbolic
of 18th century French Royalty is a timeless classic.
These beautiful pieces are manufactured by the oldest glass factory in France.
